I was kinda getting to a point where I felt like I was on autopilot and things were going exactly how I needed with very little input from me.

Well, today disproved that:
Fasting: 64
Before lunch: 48
After lunch: 117
Before my exam this afternoon: 94
After exam: 107
20 minutes later before dinner: 58
After "treating" the 58: 62
After more "treatment:" 217
Later: 163
Still later: 174

I know it's not a horrible day, but blah, worse than I'm used to. I wonder if the stress of the exam played a role. I've had like 10 "below 65s" in the last 2 days, and I'm working out way more than usual (45 minutes on eliptical last night, though nothing today), so I went ahead and decreased all my rates by 0.1, but I'm thinking that's too much for my night time basals (which I tested like a month ago and were perfect).

Feh, who knows. My CGMS is delivered tomorrow, I'm hoping that gives me insight once I start.

Today I felt like the only times I was normal was if I caught it between swings.

Isn't that the way it goes some days? Makes me appreciate those autopilot periods even more.

I hate days like that! Kinda makes you feel like you want to get off the roller coaster ride but the attendant won't stop it!

Well yeah, our basal metabolisms are not always consistent which makes the nature of our treatment and using prediction rather troublesome at times.

A working pancreas functions as a reactive system, not predictive. For all the improvement in the treatment to get better control, we're still trying to slam square pegs through round holes.

I hear ya, I am in an every two hour test mode, cause I am only an auto pilot at night imagine every flipping day being so absolutely different, moving wise, and all, that there is no way to know how much insulin you need.....ever, that is my problem, so I live by my meter....Because since there are no two days a like for me, that I cannot do true basal tests only at night, and I have them nailed......So I can atleast sleep, LOL....thank god.....wait to you become a mommy, I don't think anyone can have an auto pilot anymore.....if they did, they get a reward LOL....
