Forgot the pump at home...

this was interesting. I went to the gym before lunch, did some pretty heave weight lifting, nothing unusual. Came home at 1130, took the pump of to shower, checked sugar, 5.2. Showered, then went into town to eat lunch. Realized i had forgot to put the pump back on. frick. I ate anyway, some gulasch soup, half a sub with sallad and meat and stuff, and some coffe. Then walked home, about 2.5 K. Expected to be way high, but i was at 4.7. And that was with a lot of bread and stuff.

I find that interesting. Exercise is a bless.

Probably like you said all the exercise, but were you without the pump for more then four hours, I'd say if the four hour mark started to hit, you might of started to rise eventually.....cause the insulin, basal of course would of started to run out....

But you got so lucky, probably a blessing imagine having the pump on and eating and bolusing and then the low you might of had...

Glad the experience ended up a good one..

You're also probably helped by the situation of being a recently diagnosed diabetic and you're probably still honeymooning with your body supplying some of its own insulin. IOW, the results from a similar situation a few years from now will be much different than it was today for you.
