what a difference

what a difference an extra injection has made, i was taking novorapid 3 times a day and novolin nph once daily, my doctor who i'm changing by the way always had me on this since being diagnosed 5 years ago but lately have been having trouble keeping those bg numbers down always way up there 15-25 mostly afternoon and evening, then i found this site and told my problem to all and what a great help i got and info from blue sky, so anyhow to the point i now stiil inject novorapid 3 times a day but at lunch i inject novolin nph along with a reduced lunchtime shot of novoraoid and again at bedtime i do the normal novolin nph shot the last 2 days i have been well in optimal range, between 4 and 8 when testing bg's, i really did not know any other diabetics to get info from, and my doctor was a little elusive about my problem, but coming in here and asking question has really helped me so thanks to all especially blue sky who put me on the right path, thanks everyone.

It is good to hear that the lunchtime Novolin is working for you. Thanks for the feedback. And keep up the good work!

Thats good to hear! I'm on Novorapid aswell! What's your base insulin? I'm on Lantus in the morning (which is my base) with Novorapid in the morning, lunch and dinner times. My blood sugar levels have been really good lately, due to the novorapid, and my latest HBA1c was 6.8!!!

My understanding is that NPH is designed to be used twice a day, so that was a bit odd the program you were on before. Glad it's working for you now!
