| | | When's the last time you had your thyroid checked? If the levels are off, it can either cause you to gain weight or lose it no matter what you do.
And FYI...carbs mean nothing in weight gain, calories do.

| | im like 5'10. I want to gain weight because for some reason I feel unhealthily skinny. I eat so much every day and every day the dam scale reads 144. I am going to the doc dec 17, and it seems so far away 20 more days...

| | | If it's not a thyroid issue, I'd suggest that if you're going to gain weight, it's far better to gain useful weight like muscle.
I'm 5'9" and 140 pounds, which makes me skinny or slender however one chooses to see it, but I wouldn't want to put any more fat on me than I already have. It's plenty enough. Muscle, on the other hand, is useful both for moving the body and other things around and is also useful to the metabolic composition of the body. Muscles use insulin and glucose. Fat doesn't. |

| | | You have to do what's right for you, not all people feel good when they are skinny, for me it sickens me to death, I never witched and moaned at all when I was a bit heavier, I just wanted about 10 pounds off, so I could have a healthier Bmi, and be in range, I was 137, all I wanted was to be in the 120's fine with the lower 130's but nope I am sitting at 105 pounds and getting jealous of woman with curves and what not, I feel very unhealthy and sickly.....this is not what I want'
If you feel unhealthy at your weight you go with your instincts and get your thyroid checked, if you know something is not right, then your probably right.....and you gain weight from carbs and calories,
Have you always been this way? If you haven't then something is up, because I was not ever this thin before in my life...
Cheryl

Ensure that you are getting enough protein, especially after workouts, and you should put on some muscle. Being more active will also increase your appetite. Eat food with a high energy content, like cheese, nuts, eggs, full cream milk etc.

| | | I have just felt this crappy and tired for 4 months. My parents think i'm kidding so they just made an appointment for "a few months down the road"....
Here is my symptoms
I am tired all day. I get 7-10 hrs of sleep, but within 2 hrs im tired again
At times I feel really dizzy lightheaded like I'm drunk
Sometimes I get a crazy intolerance to heat
I see tons of floaters lately and even the odd flash of light
I can't seem to gain weight no matter what. I do exercise and I eat all kinds of food, cheese, milk, vegetables, sugar, meats fishes, juices...
This is all depressing me because I used to be so energetic. My life feels like a pos right now and all I do is think about when I'm gonna see a doctor. I am currently in school and this is my last quarter so I need really good grades so imagine having to study your butt off but always being tired... 20 more days until i see the doc and prove my parents wrong...

| | This sounds very very similar to my case a few years ago. I was told that my situation was a form of a eating disorder. I didn't think so then but reflecting back on it, i realise that it was a eating disorder...self abuse. I am not diagnosing you with eating disorder because I am definatly not a Dr. nor am i close to being one...:P ...but could this be a possiblity?
How are your BS? Are they on the high side? The symptoms you have are what i had, light headedness, intolerance to heat, odd flashes of light and more. No matter how much i ate, i would never gain weight, just like you. I just kept losing weight. Seeing the pounds go down for me was great! I thought i looked better and better each day. I wasn't intentionally cutting back on my insulin and i didn't realise how messed up my body was getting until I had to be rushed into emergency for extreme ketoacidosis. I was in the hospital for quite some time.
When you eat whatever you want, not exercise much, and sleep for hours and hours without backing it up with enough insulin, your sugars will spill over into your urine and therefore you will lose weight. By not supporting your body with enough insulin causes body tissues to dissolve and be flushed out in urination. This is extremly dangerous!
IF this is the case PLEASE becareful and you MUST seek help ASAP and you must improve on your lifestyle.
I hope you find out what is going on with your health. I hope what i went through is not what you are going through right now. I wish you the very best! If there anything i can do to help please let me know!

| | | Not sure if this was asked or covered?
But how old are you? Still in school means somewhat young.
I bet your really "REGULAR" as well - the poop fairy visits you often.
May just be normal case of high metabolism.
The tires all the time could be related to the foods you eat, but could also mean something out. Check with your doc and rule out as much as you can.
And I have to agree with "Who?" careful what you do wish for, it’s not often you hear people say that they wish that they were fat. So many overweight people with the complete opposite.

| | The heavier you get the more you need to eat and adjust your insulin levels accordingly. I do feel much better than being skinny but it also requires more adjusting. With this disease you can not have your cake and eat it too, no pun intended! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
