A1c 5.8!!!

been on the pump a little over a month- endo did an A1c test yesterday and results are 5.8.

Sounds good to me.

Very good result. Did you have many hypos over the month? and how does this compare to you own daily blood test figures?

T2, diagnosed 8/31/06.
Byetta 5 mcg
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets


Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (right after dealing with shingles and bronchitis)

Thanks all- I was having lots of hypo's before the pump. My percentage of lows was less than 4% and high was about the same. I feel great and my sugars testing is within range most of the time.

I am happy with the 5.8 but 5.7 would be better. the ultimate goal is a 5.5 but the middle of 2008

I've been pumping since the end of October. Endo wanted to wait until the first of January to do an A1C so I'm hoping this next one is better.
Dean, just saw in your profile that you like motocross racing. I know a guy who used to race professionally. I'm in Hickory, NC. I really enjoy watching him race for fun now.
