| | | 40 carbs per meal isn't a lot if you are losing weight. |

Eat a bit less of real food, as a trade for regular portion with sugarfree.
I have no real evidence or example of sugarfree being related to your problem, but in principle, sugarfree is really bad choice.
Real food makes real body material like brain, muscles, bones.
Sugarfree chemicals that cannot metabolize have no means of satisfying hunger or any nutritional yearning in your body, hence the sky is the limit for problems from sugarfree.
I saw a can of sugarfree cherry pie filling in the store and was interested in purchasing, until I read the ingredients containing suralose.
I avoid any/all sugarfree like plague.
Try kefir as a change for your yoghurt - exactly like yoghurt, but drinkable, and I search hard to find the whole milk full fat kefir.
DeusX will staighten me out, but as I understand it, the brain runs on fats from foods.
Run away from sugarfree. I have stayed away from sugar free for my entire diabetes life - almost 34 years now. | I agree Dan. I've always avoided the cräp, except for diet sodas which I don't drink much of. From the start I've cut way back on all sweeteners. I find most sweets sickening. Most recipes can be cut back by half or more. |

My opinion on what you should do, see a psychiatrist. This IS stress and worrying. Let him put you on some pills that will make you more mellow and happier, It will help you will see. |

If your thyroid tests were normal, that's not likely your problem. |

My doc put me on thyroid medicine (hypothyroid) 5 months ago, and just increased it last week. I've complained about fatigue more and more lately, with no answers so far. Got tested for anemia on my own curiosity, but no dice. As I enjoy a few rums here and there, maybe the "hard" alcohol had had an effect over the years. No dice after liver testing.
I'm now thinking that it's possibly sleep apnea (waking many times overnight), as I also have occasional asthma attacks, usually overnight. You may want to look into this as well.

| | | i think what we have is depression and stress. I think i have hit that time in my life between high school and adulthood and i just dont know what the future holds. I'm so used to going to school everyday and hanging out with friends and getting home and just doing fun stuff and i know that is going to change. soon i will need a permanent job and need to pay bills. i think life just starts to suck from here on out. I am just going through the acceptance stage. also having diabetes definitly doesnt help my situation. i feel like if i would have lived 100 years ago i would have died by quickly and that is depressing...

I got to become my own person, take control of my own decisions and finances, and shed the pre-conceived notions that people had of me after 12 years of school together. College and then post-college life are both huge changes, and they weren't seamless ones for me, but they've been for the best. (And, FWIW, I was diagnosed with D as a college freshman, and I still feel this way.) Don't underestimate all of the wonderful things that will happen in the newxt few years.....
I think that you're dealing with some major stress and even some depression, due in part to your D and upcoming life changes. Maybe seeing a therapist would be a good idea? Get this stuff under control now, before you tackle college... IMHO.
Good luck!
