Humapen Memoir?

Hi guys n gals!

Been away for a while, hope you're all doin well and had a happy new year!

I was wondering if anyone has the HumaPen Memoir? It has a digital memory that shows insulin dose, date & time for the last 16 injections... and i want to know if it's possible to use a Lantus cartridge? If not, is there a basal insulin that can be used with the pen?

im quite keen to get one of these because i keep forgetting to take my basal, and sometimes im like, did i take it or not? then i dont take it just in case to avoid lows, and if i didn't... i end up high but with this i can just look and find out if i did or not.

Thaaaanks.

Speaking of DF members who we've missed (there was a thread recently)....here's another one! Welcome back!

I haven't tried the Humapen Memoir, but I know that others have. As I recall, another DF member had trouble with the display on it. You might do a forum search to find the thread. Unfortunately, the Memoir just works with Humalog, not Lantus: HumaPen MEMOIR

I had one. Then I had another one. Then I gave up. Stay away from it.

While the memory function works, and is extremely handy, the pen is virtually useless as a pen. It has to remain at room temperature. You can't take it into the cold, heat, or humidity. If you do, moisture will condense on the electronics and cause the display to malfunction. Basically, you have to leave it at home. Defeats the purpose of a pen. It is a very poor design.
