| | | Great lot of help you guys are....
Any way, so i took three units of rapid at 10:00 tested at 11: it was 13.6. gave a furthur 4u and had a small snack. tested at 12 and now its 15!!
You know, i say this in pure frustration but i can understand how alot of diabetics would just starve themselves!!!!!!!!!! I eat one thing am affected for hours and hours byt the carbs or sugar. THen i have one small snakc that completely throws my sugars for hours. I give shots in a hope that it will come down... TO NO AVAIL!!! |

| | | I would nudge the Lantus up a Unit as that will lower the BG's so look at that I think. |

| | | Are you carb counting? If so what is your ratio?
And how are you feeling right now? Any chance that you could be fighting something off like a cold or flu?
Stress in your life has been known to have a direct afftec on your levels.

| | Jesus, it's been dinner time over here! Give us a break
If this is a one time thing, nobody knows better than you. I always blamed by chronic highs on poor absorption. Do you take two Lantus shots a day? That can lessent eh absorption risk somewhat. |

| | Hmm.:
IM not sick.I was experiencing elevated levels about two weeks ago whe i had the flu and a gastric bug, but im fine now, unless a colsore that appeared a week ago could be a cause?
I dont really count per se, i have a set meal i have at Bfast that has never given me any probs: 2x toast with vegemite and a cup of tea. I eat this everyday.
THen at morning tea i eat: banana, yohgurt or a savoury
then the rest of the day i guess
My correction ratio is .5, so if im over 8mmol then i correct down to 5mmol.
ie: 10mmol it'll be a correction of 2.5u of rapid. |

| | | Hi- I wonder if you are relatively new to D 1?
I have been insulin dependent type 1 for many years and the more years pass the more volitatle my bs can get. I an have several weeks of excllent bs and all of a sudden my bs will go so high and stay high no matter how much more insulin I take it is just like taking water. Than all of a sudden I am fighting lows. I was allowing it to drive me nuts and I finally just accepted it and monitor my highs very closely, if I can.
For me just a fact of life.

I wish it were a PG! but no, alas, we are not yet actively TTC.. I did think about that though... |

| | | Yea, its been very hot here, but i have a little baggie i keep it in to keep it cool.
As i suspected would happen i went hypo last night after the gym and stayed hypo until 10pm.. THis morning i woke up at 8.3 so i corrected down to 6 and had Bfast as usual with usual amt of rapid. I shall see at 10:30 when i do my two hour test to see how its going.. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
