I've used Actraprid before it was good for me then i moved to novomix 30 - i had moved from one country to another and the doc felt that i had such good control i didn't need MDI but then i was still in the honeymoon period..

now i'm on NovoRapid and Levimir and its working magic i know for others it just wasn't the thing for them but i have seen a drastic change in my BS and its for the good!!!

Kevin, dumb question on my part, but... what clued you in that insulin was coming out? Is it really obvious, or did something clue you in, like an insulin smell? Did the canula area actually look wet or puddle? I don't think I've ever had this happen, but then again I've never really looked for it. I have noticed occasionally smelling that insulin smell after a bolus, so I wonder if there's leaking somewhere going on. I use Novolog. Thanks.

I've tried a few insulins and didnt get on with most of them or they didnt get on with me

Started on Lantus - which didnt do anything even in huge doses bar make my whole body ache,
Lantus + novorapid - sugars raised and the ache got worse,
Levemir + novorapid - worked alot better but needed huge doses over what pens would give and cant get it in vials here so was swapped to

humalog and humulin-I (Humulin-N to usa people) and am still on this now

I used to take Humalog and Humulin-N. My BGs were good but I got allergic to some of their componants (don't really know which ones).

I now take Novorapid and NPH. I have a better control since I take NPH in the morning but it could be better. For some reasons, all the doctors that I've seen over the last year refuse to prescribe me Lantus

I was using lantus/novorapid on MDI. It worked well.
I'm now on a pump and using Apidra.
I'm using about 20% less insulin. The main difference is in basal use On MDI, I was taking 16 units of lantus, the basal on the pump varies between 10 and 12 units .I don't know whether its because of the difference in insulins or the method of administration.
