| | | Moving I have not signed in here for almost a year! How time flies, i was very ill with something called Dermatomysotysis, but i am nearly clear now! Any how my question is nothing to do with that its the fact that my husband has just excepted a job out in Dubai and he is really excited about it. He wants us to go and live out there permanently from the summer if it all works out but i am very nervous and wondered if any one had lived in Dubai or could tell me things about it. I would be really grateful!!! Karen |

| | | I believe DeusXM lives there now...you might want to PM him for some information. Sounds like an exciting time for you and your husband. Glad you're doing well.

| | | If you play golf, then you're in luck! LOL
Actually, Karen, I didn't even know where Dubai was until this past weekend. My husband was watching golf and commented on the beautiful course that Tiger Woods was playing on. He's also building his own course there, as are a few other celebraties.
Whatever you and your husband decide, I wish you the very best of luck!

| | | I have a very good friend living in Dubai right now. She absolutely LOVES it. The things she said were hard to learn to live with were hot water in the toilets. hehehehe..... driving is not easy and if you have an accident, make sure you speak the language. The police will arrive and if you only speak English the other driver will blame everything on you and responsibility is decided on the spot by the police. You will pay for both cars! She doesn't drive in Dubai. The shopping is excellent and if you want snow, you can just go to the mall and go skiing.
American type food is actually pretty plentiful, but expensive. My friend lives a couple of blocks from the shore and she says it is beautiful and the beaches immaculate. I would love to go a visit. I am sure you will love it, but be prepared for HOT weather.
