Starting to be in control!!!

I was put on Humalog last week after not being able to control BS after meals since my GP only had me on Lantus 1x daily. Taking up to 5 units per meal depending on carbs and I have not had a BS over 130 for this week and that is awesome for me it feels like it is starting to be in control. But I have one Question when I am around 100 I know that is good but why does it feel like I am low. I did not know if it was because of me being high all the time and not being used to the regular #'s. I hop2 this is the beginning of a good start for BS's.

You're correct about feeling low at 100 because your body's used to always being higher. That'll fix itself pretty quickly. Great job on taking control!

Good for you Troy! You'll get used to that 100 and with good control eventually feel poorly even at 150 or so.

I'm happy you got what you needed. It's possible to only have Lantus, but you'd have to eat like a mouse and eat a tiny amount of healthy carbs. Now you've got it right!

Troy...that is wonderful. Yes, you are getting your body used to feeling "normal"...much like someone coming off drugs, so just give it a little time.

I'm curious what your new endo thought about the "lantus only" prescription from your previous doctor. That still amazes me...you being a type 1 and all.

Hope you like your new endo...

The new endo did not think that was a good idea only being on lantus and wounder why he would only have me on that. She was happy that I found this place and came to her. I hope I will grow to like her so that I feel comfortable while seeing her.

Same... That seems crazy to me.

Congrats on getting Humalog, though. It works wonders. :]
