Sorry I didn't see the other thread with this in it. I was surprised when a "cure" subject didn't jump out at me, so I started this thread.

This is like reading the other story, that came out a year ago. Diabetics cured in stem-cell treatment advance - Times Online

No idea about the science in this, but it seems pretty similar to me. The problem so far is that those medicines they have to take, to get their immunesystem lowered, can give you some bad side-effects.

Hopefully with enough trials, they will manage to get it much more "user friendly". If it won't cure, it can lead to us only having to take a shot every month perhaps or so. But that also depends on if they can create stem cells or if they only have to come from dead people, as there is a real shortage of people donating their body to science or anything similar.
