oops! i forgot to bolus for a meal

its the first time i have forgotten to bolus at all, usually i remember after the meal or half way thru. but i didnt realise until 1 1/2 hours after the meal!!!

i tested before the meal as usual
7pm ~ BG 5.2 , ate lamb burger 1/4 lb with home made coleslaw (15g) and large bun (38g)

8.30pm realise missed bolus ~ BG 6.2, eat 40g carbs chocolate sauce and bolus for it.

10pm ~ BG 11.4, take correction bolus

midnight ~ BG 8.2
4.30am ~ BG 5.3
7.20am ~ BG 5.1

worked out okay in the end, was odd to see a very tiny rise at 1 1/2 hours.

That sounds like a close call with the chocolate and all.

The worst thing i have done so far is was with my Lantus, I went out for the evening/night/morning in a night club and totally forgot to take my Lantus (normally at 7pm). I suddenly remembered at about 5am in the morning and took a quick injection. Thank goodness I had been drinking alcohol, so I had a low bg level.

Sharon, Don't feel bad. For me, this is an all to common error with a pump. It is so easy to forget that you need to punch a few buttons to eat.

For me, it always seems to be my highest carb meals I forget to bolus for. Go figure. It happens.
