Diabetes is an Art, NOT a Science. You must master the control by skills and not by knowledge alone.

24 years, age 2 at diagnosis

Does that make us almost tied? I was always "proud" to have it the longest out of everyone I knew...then I joined DF and realized I'm no where near the longest!

DXed at age 28; coming up on one year since DX. Considering how I was at DX (A1c of 12.9%, DKA, had been feeling awful for a long time), I can only speculate when I actually became diabetic.

DXed 2007/04 = advanced-stage DKA, A1c of 12.9%, and BMI of 21.3
post-DX A1c = 5.4% @ 2008/07; 5.2% @ 2008/04; 5.3% @ 2007/12; 5.3% @ 2007/08
c-peptide = 0.0% @ 2008/07
current BMI = 26.0 (86kg on 182cm); want to get back to 23-24
basal = 2U human N @ 0630, 4U detemir @ 0630, 8U detemir @ 1130, 19U detemir @ 2030
bolus = 1:15 I:C ratio; varying mix of aspart, human R, human N

not a low-CHO eater... not even close!
