Sleep problems?

So one of my biggest questions. Do others have sleep problems? I mean like waking up at a certain times and then every so many minutes till you need to get up? I didn't have this problem before and I figure its stress not my T1 problem. Just sometimes it seems to be I can't get to the right place to sleep.

I'm probably not doing the best thing, because I don't test myself when this happens to see where I am. I may be high (thinking maybe the liver has shot something out and I'm not reacting to it). I never feel low, just this craptastic feeling of not being able to get in the right position.. Ok I'm rambling, time to go to bed..

sweet dreams..

My sleep quality is just now, after 1.5 years coming back to normal. I used to be afraid of low while sleeping, and that did indeed ruin my sleep.

It's a tricky thing sleep, so many things in life can affect it.

I sleep like a stone if i'm not high or low, and if i'm having a day off the day after. But if i have an alarm set, i almost always wake up maybe 1h before and don't fall asleep again until minutes before it's time to get up

If i'm high or low, i tend to wake up... If i'm high i wake up by having my mouth feeling so dry, and i can get cracks in my tongue If i have nighttime lows, i can have dreams about eating and that usually makes me wake up and test...

I would really start testing when you wake up; I find that if my bg is low in bed, I really can’t get to sleep. I have never woken up from a hypo/hyper maybe that’s because I haven’t had a serve one yet. Who knows, different people react differently to hypos/hypers.

I have trouble sleeping if I'm high or low...but it's different for each. If I'm low I just don't feel right, can't settle down. If I'm high I wake up a lot, toss and turn, and often find myself sweating. I've learnred to drag myself out of bed and test if I can't sleep well, and I'd say 90% of the time, it's BG related.

I sleep terribly... my wife keeps getting on me for a sleep study, but i keep procrastinating. 1-2 nights per week one of use goes to another room, because of my snoring and tossing/turning...

Ironic, I sleep through hypos, thank goodness for CGMS alerts. When levels are usually fine though when I can't sleep.

Anyone use ta CPAP machine for sleep apnia?

I was diagnosed about 11 years ago with central sleep apnea, and started using a CPAP. Whoa, what a difference. My new wife told me to see the Dr about my snoring or I wasn't going to have a new wife anymore

It changed my life. The first couple of nights using the CPAP mask are awkward, but you get used to it. (Tip: there are a ton of different mask types out there. Don't just accept the one the supply place gives you. Make sure you are fitted and look at your options)

I can't put into words how much more rested I am in the mornings. If I nap someplace without my CPAP (like fall asleep on the couch at night) there is a noticeable difference in my sleep quality, short term memory, energy, etc.

Have your Dr get you to a sleep center for an overnight test if you have the symptoms. Try this quiz and take it with you to your Dr:

Sleep Apnea Questionnaire

Thanks for the advice, similar to advice and results others have given... Since I answered yes to a whopping 17/30, maybe I should start listening to those around me and get into the clinic!

I tend to be very sensitive to my BG changes and this has led to much disrupted sleep. For years I had a terrible problem where if my BG was dropping, even gently.. (say 1 or 2 mmol/l per hour, through a "normal" range) it would activate me, waken me, stop me from getting sleepy. Major insomnia going on and my BG tests would keep being the same scenario - one that was basically good but with a downwards action, as if my body was aware that it would likely hit low in say 5 or 6 hours.

High and I'm zonked like a sleeping pill, and with very bad quality sleep, wake groggy, tired.

These things still occur but has been much lessened by the extra stability I have these days. At the time I got checked out for apnoea but I was given the all clear. Definitely explore that option.

I sleep terrible! I have found the only way I sleep is with sleep aids. I usually use melatonin with an advil as a chaser or an ambien. I can't take ambien every night as it makes me nauseated. My sleep issues are not blood sugar related. Just....me. Sorry you are having this problem. It is really frustrating.
