Question for all students - What do you like your BG at during school?

Personally when I'm in school I like to stay at around 120. Anything under 100 and I start getting paranoid.

WHen I was in college I kept it 120-140. I never knew when my plans would change and I'd go from just doing homework after class to going and playing some b-ball at the gym. Work nights I kept it more around 160, but I never knew when I would take off in a foot pursuit for underage alcohol (those were my favorite ones.)

I didn't have diabetes when i went to school, other than when i took adult classes at high school level- that was during that time i was diagnosed... At school i was sitting in the cafeteria a lot, studying because i didn't have many lectures, so then i prefered a normal blood sugar level. Now i'm working, and my job can be physical at times, so i prefer being around 7-8 mmol/l to avoid too many lows... I have had lows at work on busy days if i've been around 6mmol/l or lower when i start working...

Didn't have it [AFAIK] back in school days. At work, I like to be between 90 and 100.

Never really had a goal in school, never really had problems. If I was low I'd eat something. It helped that my school nurse was related to my Nurse at my doctor's office. I usually ate something without taking any insulin before practice (volleyball, basketball, track) and liked to be about 150 at the start of a game.

Now that I'm a teacher my target bg is 90-100. With the bolus wizard in the MM pump it's easier to aim for this specific target. (I didn't have this pump in hs or college.) I will eat something if I get into the 70's at school now. (Usually a pack of Smarties). If I'm going to be extra active I set a temp basal and/or eat something before the activity.

Wearing the sensor makes this all a lot easier.

I usually like to be around 80-85. My only problem I have ever had at school was about a week ago when I was starving and i was so shaky and i felt like i couldn't sit still but I was going to pass out at the same time. I went down to the nurse and tested and it was 51 and she was freaking out but I told her it wasn't that low and she gave me like 30 carbs.

well I can say I have had the same problem. My blood sugar was like 60 or so, mind you this happened in like 5th grade. And my teacher and another teacher were going ballistic over it. They went and got me a glazed doughnut and some orange juice. I told them I couldn't have all that but they insisted on it, so i did. And i went home to have a BS of 300 and something.
