| | | I take 36 units of lantus at dinner, and take novolog at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
some of you split lantus between 2 shots (breakfast, bed) and some of you take it only in the morning....do you have better control this way? |

It also makes you less dependant on one very important shot getting good absorption. I've had those days where it didn't seem to work at all. I have a fair amount of scar tissue.

Its swings and roundabouts. It depends how much the hole in your Lantus coverage is affecting you, are you getting rapid swings around the time you do your injection? I know I get spikes from it after injecting and eating a meal in the evening.

| | | shiftzor - if it keeps me in better control, I don't mind doing an extra injection....don't remember not doing it....18 years and counting!
currently, I'm running higher than I want to....who isnt? lol but, I take lantus at dinner (6 PM) and if I don't eat enough at bed if my BG is good levels, I crash....if I'm 250-300 at bed, and I have 2 carbs minimum, I start my day around 100....otherwise I wake up with a low....but my morning BG is usually fine....my lunch is usually mid 100's....dinner tends to be higher....and bed is higher too....any suggestions?? I may bring this up with my doctor when I go next week |

| | | I take my lantus as:
10u - am
14u - pm
the reason is I tend to rise during the course of the day and overnight so the extra lantus in the evening helps keep that in check.. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
