at a minimum. since I have to inject myself at least 15-20 times per day, at least 2 or three of those will cause bruising due to the volume of insulin ... this means that my entire stomach is eternally black and blue with bruising.

The term Diabulemic implies that you avoid eating and taking insulin to lose weight ... but there are times when I avoid eating so that I can reduce the number of injections I need - I've lost an average of 10lbs per month since Christmas (although I'm admittedly still 225lbs - I can easily lose another 32 lbs and still be overweight for my height (6'1")

My goodness, I am sorry to hear of the effect it has on you physically. I had no intention of offending you by my shock, hopefully I did not.

Congratulations on loosing the weight, 10lb per month must be hard work at least your doing something about it, there are many people who won't/don't. Keep it up. What insulins are you taking?

My TDD usually is somewhere between 75 units and 100 units per day... All depending on my carb intake and activity level and health. I can be well over 100 units when sick...

When on MDI, i take 48-50 units of levemir in the PM. On the pump my basal is just slightly lower than on MDI... But really, my TDD doesn't vary much between pump and MDI and my basal and bolus is about the same too.

Well:
10 Lantus = AM
9 unit rapid = Bfast
6 unit rapid = Snacks (usually two a day)
9 units = Lunch
8 units = DInner
14 Lantus = PM
So, according to this im on 62 units of insulin in total a day. But it depends, sometimes ill skip Bfast or i wont snack..

i take 48 total units of levimir (24 at 7 am and 24 at 9 pm) and usually between 6-10 units of Apidra a day total. I find that the more insulin I take the more water I retain

Or is it because I work out 4 times a week in the gym, I run intervals once a week. Also eat smaller(ish) meals every 3 hour. I've got muscles, which would burn sugar, thus keeping the BG down.

Will I get a sudden jump up to 40+ units when honeymoon is over?
Not necessarily. I'm at average 25 units per day after 2.5 years. I don't exercise much. I don't eat too many carbs, but I'm not fanatical. My tests show no insulin production by my pancreas - thus no honeymoon.

Maybe it's because I haven't developed any insulin resistance. I reduced carb intake the day I was diagnosed, and have never gone back.
