Ketone strips

I've heard that there are ketone strips that come individually packaged so that when you open a bottle of 50 and don't use them up in 6 months, you don't have to discard and buy another bottle, but can't seem to find them.

Have any of you seen these?

Thanks,
Ken

Haven't used a ketone strip in 15 years. Doubt even idividually wrapped ones would last that long.

I usually don't use my ketone strips even though I know I should, but I used to get the individually wraped ones- It was kind of a hit and miss. I would try to call multiple pharmacy's and see if they have them before going into the store- maybe they can order them for you Good Luck!

I recently purchased individually wrapped keytone strips from Target. The brand is Bayer and they come 20 to a box. My insurance picked up part of the cost, and I can't remember what I paid for them. Hope this helps.

I've got non wrapped testing strips and have had them for well over a year(Ketodiabur/Accuchek). Checked instructions, ' Re-attach the stopper immediately after removing test strip.......when stored in original container the test strips are stable up to the date printed on the pack and label' They've still got another 5 months in date which suggests to me that they had at least 2 years viability after opening when I first got them.

I'm using some individually foil wrapped ketone strips that work with the Optium Xceed meter. They come from Abbott Diabetes Care in the UK. Hope that helps.

Are we talking wee-wee strips? If so, Judi's got the better lead: instead get an Optium Xceed tester that tests both BG, and with separate strips, your ketones as if you were testing for BG.
