| | | How do you relax? I just realised I was being stupid, my sudden drop in insulin requirement is not a honey moon its STRESS. I thought stress affected me by raising my BG, but now I realised that it both lowers me and raises me. Other indicators are difficulty sleeping at night. I have never had this amount of stress combined with Diabetes, dam those final year exams. Sorry if my last few posts have been a little bit um, stressed I am now officially on a chill out mission. My method: music, stretches and going for walks. Sunny weather makes it easy. Whats yours? |

| | | Just talking about this with Hubby. He hits golf balls, can be so stressed out, his blood pressure goes high. Then he hits a bucket of balls and it goes down. I used to take walks and it helped calm me, but cannot do that so much anymore. Reading sometimes calms me as does painting. I just need to find a place where I am not interrupted every 5 minutes.

| | | Either take a long walk alone or go shooting.
The shooting is very zen and I forget everything but what I'm doing at that moment.

| | Grooming one of my horses. I have a 10yr old draft horse that should have been a therapist. Usually the horses pick up your stress and then they stress. This guy, it doesn't matter if I'm stressed, angry, sad. He's always there, will listen until I feel better, never interrupts me, doesn't look at me like I'm nuts, never repeats what I've said. Needless to say, he's the nicest looking horse in the barn.

It is my ultimate escape - playing alot of Mario Kart on the Wii right now.
Yard work helps me as well, take out some of my stress on the grass and leaves.
I can have a stress day at work - go home to see my son- to see his face can ultimatly melt away any work related stress that I have going on. Its Great.

| | | Grooming or walking my dog OR "serenity time" with my cats. Watching Fox News or mowing the yard. Also watching the flowers grow (not the grass, but the flowers)! I'm up and down and around a lot. If I really need to relax, I have to put the timer on and not get up until it goes off.

| | | In the past it used to be MMORPG's. I played Everquest for years, WoW, Vanguard, LoTRO, etc. Now I go for walks, especially at work, which is in the Marina area. I don't think I can find anything more relaxing then watching the waves from the pier.

Mario Kart is better - now with Nintendo getting more and more involved with thier WiFi network play.
I love how you can add friends and hook up and play - send ghost challeneges to each other and compare stats on all the maps.
All the retro tracks are in it - its really good. Way better then DoubleDash - I was not a fan.
I just sold my 360 over the weekend - it was a system I used for "educational purposes. I plan on getting a new one here in the next few weeks. Have my eye on an Elite - it looks dead sexy.
need to hook myself up with a nice new LCD as well to mount on the wall.
Man - I need to slow down - all this video, electronic talk is getting me all hot and bothered.
I started to play the new GTA4 and liked what I saw. Quote:

MMORPGs are like Crack. I sue to play alot of FPS online, Unreal Tournamnet, Quake ect. Then read about WOW - and how it was being worked on. So I started to play DAoC (Dark Age Of Camelot) and got sucked in to the world of MMORPGs - and what a wolrd it was. My FPS friends were pissed as that was the last they saw of me.
I eventually moved over to WoW and had to stop playing as I have no self control.
I may re-activate when I grow up, but for now - I want to watch my lil one grow up 1st

| | | My favorite way to relax is to do things with my horses.
Or... Go for a walk, read a book, watch tv, take a hot bath.
If those doesn't work, there's always adult beverages!!! |

| | When I am trying to relax I like music with nature sounds like the
ocean waves, or birds chirping, or even African drums or
something like that. Or watch nature clips at http://www.relaxwithnature.com
It always works for me. |
