| | Everything's Going Wrong!! Augh! Everything's going crazy!!!
1. Murphy (our dog) is sick. He had the runs really badly yesterday. I had the day off b/c I just got home from my trip to Ohio to visit my mom's side of the family, so I had time to take him in to the vet. Vet thinks he has a bacterial infection from coming in contact with other animals' feces (including goose poop), and has him on antibiotics. Also bought his heartworm meds and some special food for him to eat until his tummy's better. $200 later.... :P
2. The CGMS sensor I put in yesterday HURTS! I've never had them hurt before. And since I pay for them out of pocket, I REALLY don't want to take it out and put a new one in.
3. The CGMS sensor I put in yesterday doesn't seem to be working. It got me up multiple times last night when I wasn't even remotely close to as low as it said. In fact, one time I was high when it said I was low! Augh! I'm trying to calibrate it a few more times before I give up on it, but I might have to change it after all. Either way, I did NOT sleep well last night
b/c of it.
4. I woke up with a bloodsugar of 300 during the night last night...for no obvious reason. I wondered if I had an occlusion, but when I did a correction bolus it worked, and it brought my bloodsugar down, so who knows what happened. Frustrating and made me feel like ****.
5. This morning I realized that I didn't take my Effexor (anxiety meds) last night. So for the last few hours my head has been wonky and I can't think straight or walk a straight line. *sigh*
6. When I took my breakfast bolus, I got a "No Delivery" message on my pump. I tried it again just to be sure, and "No Delivery" again. So I changed out the whole set while my oatmeal got cold, and then I STILL kept getting "No Delivery" while I was trying to prime it! It seemed like the reservoir plunger was maybe stuck. But eventually it worked. I still brought tons of extra supplies to work today in case it craps out again. And trying to figure out all this stuff while I had an "Effexor-withdrawal-head" didn't work very well.
7. The garage door wouldn't close when we left for work.
8. First day back at work after holidays. That's never fun.
9. Computer was SUPER slow when I first got here. Now it seems to be working, though.
I don't have a number 10. I'll just be thankful for that. :P
I wasn't sure which forum to put this in....so here it sits in Diabetes Type 1, because that's what a number of my frustrations pertain to....

| | Hey Bethany... so sorry it has been rough but things can only get better eh ?!
I have occasionally had a No Delivery and rather than change the whole set I usually just do a Prime->Rewind and then a Manual Prime to reset the system... seems to work for me.
I work with computers too and know just what you mean... when you are in a hurry the darn things just seem to get slower and slower

| | Hi Beth,
Geez. Sounds like pitching the CGMS sensor is a good idea. Maybe the company would replace it. It's pretty hard to get anything done when your HURT.
Seriously, when you got to number 7, didn't you feel a bit like smiling at the situation? I hate those "what else can go wrong" days. You just have to give up and play catch-up until you finally do get everything taken care of, then drop into bed and be glad it's a new day tomorrow.
Here's a hug to you from me and a few pats for Murphy too.

| | | Awww B !!!!!!! Sorry to hear things are going so rough. If you need a #10, you can add my depression to your list.
Hang in there. It's got to get better.

| | | Here's my #10 - I just had a really bad hypo. It dropped really fast, and because of my Effexor-withdrawal-head, it made me feel TOTALLY screwed up. I was cold-sweating, and my eyes were seeing spots. One of my staff members came into my office and sat with me until it went up to make sure I didn't pass out. I don't remember the last time I felt that low. I'm quite sure I couldn't have stood up. I couldn't even hold my head up.
Here's hoping there's no #11.

| | | Bethany,
You're in Canada, with nice metric things, so you have had your rounding to 10, can't be 11 that's just not a metric number.
Bet you feel like getting into bed, pulling up the covers and waiting for a new day to start. Don't suppose you could get a duvet-day?

No, I really can't afford a duvet-day today. I wish I could, but I can't.

| | | Boy Beth.......that is one lousy day. Why is it that it all seems to come crashing down in a day?
You have to turn it around. Go do something nice for someone....surprise them. It will make you feel better and it will make them feel better. Start a new chain of events on a positive note.
Eeeeesh..... I am sorry. I hope your dog is feeling better.

| | Bethany, hope you are feeling better by now, and that your day is improving. A pat for Murphy and a HUG for you!
If the weather is nice where you are, maybe you could take your lunch to a park or something and be outside in the sunshine for a while. That helps me.
I really hope things get better from here.

| | | Thanks for the kind thoughts.
I now have a #11 and #12:
#11 - My boss asked me to go to a meeting for him this afternoon with a bunch of VPs from our company (I'm a lowly manager). I'm still not thinking clearly. Not a good thing.
#12 - A webcast I was helping to set up, that had approx. 10 people attending is now not happening because our boardroom mysteriously has no LAN connection anymore and there's no way to fix that in time.
This is becoming laughable.

| | | Bethany,
I'm just plain exhausted, but after reading about your day, I think I already feel better! And Murphy started it all!!! Maybe if he gets better, YOU will. I used to live in Missouri and around some places covered in goose poop. Before that, I had no idea how big bird poop could be!!
I also had a wierd high yesterday and never figured out what happened (368 - felt awful). A shot in the top my arm brought it down ok.
Pain can just make you mad, expecially when all you are doing is trying to take good care of yourself. Please accept some big hugs from me and Beau. Beau doesn't want his favorite Canadian friend, Murphy, sick!
LAUGH, DON'T CRY!!
