This morning I went to one of my favorite haunts in town, my local Salvation Army, to look for some reading material since I'm getting low. I really was not even looking for anything on Diabetes in particular, but walking by the books on foods and cooking I came across six books banded in elastic bands. Since I do love to try my hand with cooking and different recipes, the words "Recipes For Diabetics" caught my eye.
Needless to say with being newly diagnosed and still confused about what I can and cannot eat, I dove for the books
Here's the titles of the books that were in the cookbook lot:
The Complete Diabetic Cookbook by Mary Jane Finsand.
Taste of Home's Down-Home Diabetic Cookbook.
Gourmet Recipes for Diabetics by Billie Little & Victor G. Ettinger, M.D.
Real Food for People With Diabetes by Doris Cross with Alice Williams.
American Diabetes Association's Holiday Cookbook.
BH&G Diabetic Cookbook.
Quick & Easy Diabetic Recipes by Anne C. Cain.
Now that I have seen some of the things that I can eat that actually have flavor, I'm starting to see that I don't have to resign myself to a lifetime of flavorless foods.
Right now getting these cookbooks means the world to me, I'm just so excited that I had to let you all know
Have A Great & Healthy Weekend!
