| | A1C Done!! Today I have done the blood work for the A1C and I will get to find out on the 15th of July, Three weeks from now.
My control is indeed rough but if I see 6MMOL/L I would be happy. |

| | | Peter, I'm sure you are dancing on your toes waiting for the results! Here in the U.S., I'm able to request the results to be mailed back to me...as well as faxed to the doctor. That way, I know what kind of explaining I need to do at the doctor and not caught by surprise, LOL! Seriously, I used to get very anxious about A1C numbers and they used to spoil my office visits.
Even the good numbers...it's like some kind of law school review...I know we all feel that way.
Three weeks is a long time to wait! It just takes a day or so here.
Good luck! |

Just a reminder in case anyone new is confused : an A1c of 6 % is not the same as Blood Sugar (BS) reading of 6 mmol/l. An A1c of 6% is more like an average BS reading of 7.57 mmol/l

| | | Did I read this right??? Why is it going to take 3 weeks to get the results??? I get mine that day if I do it at the doctors, and 2-3 DAYS later if I do it at an off-site lab.
Here's hoping you get your number!

| | | Yes, Peter, I hope you get the number you want.
I can usually call my doctor the next day and they tell me over the phone what all my bloodwork numbers were. Then when I go for my appointment, I know what I need to ask about.
Wishing you luck.
