Overactive thyroid medication

Hi all

I am taking carbimazole tablets for hyperthyroidism & my question is will I have to take these forever?

Hyperthyroidism can be acute or chronic. If you have acute hyperthyroidism you may need to only take carbimazole while the thyroid gland is producing more thyroid hormones. If you have chronic hyperthyroidism you will need to take carbimazole for life or consider other options like surgery or radioactive iodine.
