Going on the pump

Hello all,

Just as the subject title says, after 8 years of having the db I am going on the pump. I wanted ask for any suggestions as to which are your favorite pumps and why to help me narrow down my decision. My insurance just approved it one hour ago so I am ready to rock. I hear good things about the Pod, Animas and the Med Paradigm. Any other dark horses out there, or is that the majority of them. Thanks for your help.

Everyone is different and will like different features. I narrowed it down between the Animas and the Minimed pump. I demoed them both and decided on the Minimed. Just a personal preference. They all do basicly the same thing it is just whatever you like and are comfortable with. You will love whichever one you choose.

I went with the Minimed Paradigm because I wanted the CGMS. I don't know which other pumps will let you do CGM.

HI NJL & Welcome.

I went with Mini Med only because my younger brother and a few friends are MM pumpers and I figured if I ran into any problems, they could help me out.

What you should do is get in contact with each of the pump companies and set up an appointment with a representative. This way you can actually see the pump and its features in person, ask questions, and decide which one is best for you.

Good Luck!

Karen
