Decrease in insulin need

Ever since my diagnose in dec 06, my insulin, both basal and bolus have increased slowly. I started out on about 2 units total, and a about a month ago i was at about 13 a day. Last month or so, im down to a total of around 5-9 units. Recently i am able to wake up 6 am at around 5.5(99) and then eat a huge breakfast with 2 slices of bread, a glass of juice, a bowl of yogurt and coffe, take 1.70 units of bolus for that, shut my pump off and then go to work. and even without a basal, i''l be around 4-5 at lunch, if i don't go low before. I've had my pump totally shut off for 6 hours during sleep last two nights, and checked a few times during the night and i was still at 5-6.

I'm not complaining, it' nice not to need to take any basal or even bolus, but it's also tricky since it's been like this the last month. I've started jogging lately, and kept up my gym workout every other day. It's strange nonetheless, i hardly need any basal throughout the day.

Could starting doing more cardio do this?
