| | | Does this annoy anyone but me??? Hi, I'm a type 1 and I've had it since I was sixteen ( I'm now 49). As a kid, I always loved fruit flavored sodas, but if you go to a coin-op vending machine or any fast food joint, the choices are: Cola, Root Beer, Lemon/Lime, maybe orange or grape and...diet cola. I don't HATE diet colas, but they're hardly my first choice. Why is it that vendors are so dense that we aren't given equal opportunities to choose our soft drinks? |

| | | I'm afraid it doesnt annoy me... but in the UK... we get either ''normal'' or diet coke... sprite, tango, things like tht.. btu I have found that I have always preferred the diet brand to the normal.. I find the normal stuff too sweet lol.

| | | I agree ThinMan. I don't mind diet cola, but I would love a choice of diet Sprite or orange or some other diet choices besides cola. I don't drink much soda anymore, but I have also noticed that if you go to get an iced tea or something else, the only choice you have is diet cola. Everything else has sugar. All the Snapple choices are regular, not diet.

| | | Even though I don't have diabetes(my daughter does), I do tend to get a bit aggravated w/ the lack of choices she has...always only diet coke or pepsi.
I wish I could get her to drink more water...actually, she is now into that new berry 7up, or she drinks that flavored water from walmart...low in carbs and sugars.
I can't even drink normal soda anymore(since she was dx'd)...actually, the only thing I drink is water now...been ONLY water for almost a year now(in January). |

| | | My first choice is water. It is very annoying though. My favorite soda is diet rootbeer. It's the only kind that I drink. I asked the vendor to put in in the machine at work and he said he couldn't get it. I don't understand, I have been able to find it in every store that I go into.
Now I keep a 12 pack in my work refrig. It's cheaper that way too. |

| | | Batty, I think of Tab as a pre-cursor to Diet Coke. The idea was right, only one calorie, but the timing and taste were off. I think it was around in the early 70's, late 60's. Not sure when, or if, they stopped making it.

And now maybe you can understand the lines from the movie Back to the Future a little bit better.
Lou: You gonna order something, kid?
Marty McFly: Ah, yeah... Give me a Tab.
Lou: Tab? I can't give you a tab unless you order something.
Marty McFly: Alright, give me a Pepsi Free.
Lou: You want a Pepsi, PAL, you're gonna pay for it
:p

Hi jared I e-mailed them a couple of years ago with the same question and they did respond to me that they can't make a carb free or diet Gatoade because of what it is really intended for (high energy sports ect) they did recomend a new water they had out although it was not diet either it was low in carb. Hope that helped!
