It came as wrapped up with bows and ribbons, during Christmas Vacation 1984. I was 13
Funny thing is, I don't remeber putting it on my list in the letter to Santa?

If I can get my foot out of my mouth I will try to explain what I meant in an earlier post about "drug or alcohol related". Sometimes alcoholism can be a factor in the onset of TI, my husband's aunt is an example- she was dxd when in her 60's. And by drugs- I didn't mean street drugs. Some rx drugs used to treat illnesses can cause TI. Don't remember where I read that or what the specific drugs were.
I apologize if I offended anyone.

She's right! I know a man who had open heart surgury and the drugs he used for the treatment of his heart condition caused him to develop diabetes.

I was dxd at the age of 24 back in Feb. 1994.

Now we bring back memories!
I remember that day like it was yesterday. I also remember my first insulin injection shot that I had to give myself late at night.

I remember being in the dr office when they told me it was diabetes. I was relieved and fearful at the sametime. I was relieved to know what was causing my problems but I was scared because both grandparents died from complications.
