CalorieKing Nutrition and Exercise counting!!

hey! im brand new to managing diabetes and i've been having a lot of trouble with diet and exercise.
i've put on 3 kilos of fluids and then another couple in fat since being diagnosed with type 1 on friday last week.

today i went looking for spreadsheets to add up my carbs and fat, and stumbled across the CalorieKing software!!!! and i love it!! just wanted to share my excitement

yay something to add up grams and calories and fat and carbs and everything and tell me how much of eat food group i can have per day!! it has heeeaps of foods programmed in as well so you can go and put in what you might have tomoro and you'll be able to see if its a sensible choice or not! i love it.
i was so stressed now im much better cos i have a way to plan. thank you technology!!

lol yea i have the book. it really does work out by helping with carb counting. i've lost 6 pounds in the last month after having changed my insulin and diet. it really is a life saver ecspecially when the resturant does not have a nutrition fact sheet.

Welcome to the forums. A lot of people do put on weight when starting insulin so hopefully when you settle into things you'll be able to work on keeping it off.

I use the Calorie King web site, not the stand alone software. If you join the web site you have access to your food & exercise diary from any computer. I'd be totally lost without it. My carb counting skills are not the best simply because I rely on Calorie King so much! I like being able to build & save my own recipes so I can calculate the nutrition based on how much of it I'm going to eat.

I've only used it to look stuff up!

Cool beans -- I will look deeper into it!
