hello from malta

hi all... i am marija a 20 year old with type 1 DM since a year and a half. Today i talked to my consultant and he s not that happy with me, neither am I... my control used to be very good however now values have been going up and i kinda lost control. i m not happy at all with this because i was able to once be in control and i should therefore be able to be in control again, but i m finding it v hard to do! i had lost 15 kgs before diagnosis, and now some 2 years later i gained some 6/7 kilos again. my usual A1C were good- 6.1, however my last one was 7.1 :s i still exercise everyday and my lipids are fine, even my blood pressure, but my glucose control has gone out of my hands. went on to google to search somekind of support and i joined this forum hehe, im still experimenting how this forum works and i hope i ll be able to view any messages u will kindly send me!
tnx

Hi Marija and welcome here. This is the right place to come for help. Don't be so hard on yourself, we all lose control sometimes, you will get it back.

hi thanks for your reply! i managed to get hold of how to use this forum, i go on type 1 diabetes at the bottom of the page and then look for any replies of my post! The thing is that i m finding it hard to remain disciplant. i m no longer able to say no sometimes to things i shouldnt do, and this isnt the way things should be! i m also a medical student, and knowing all the details of the condition doesnt really help me at times. anyways, hopefully i ll get back on the right track soon!

Welcome to the forums

It's ok to get on a sidetrack sometimes, as long as it doesn't last too long or ends up with too high levels.

Diabetes stinks, or well... Diabetes doesn't, but insulin does LOL But anyways... Don't be afraid to enjoy things you like. Just make sure you take insulin to cover it.

Could it also be honeymoon just coming to an end?
