Has anyone switched from using the Deltec Cozmo pump to the Animas One Touch Ping yet? Just got the below email from my diabetic supply company, and was wondering if anyone else had made the switch yet, and what they thought. I know I'll have to switch pumps eventually, just wondering which one will be most "similar" to the Cozmo and make transition easier.

i dont know about cozmo or animas but i have minimed and it is truly wonderful. Ive had minimed for the past three years. If i can give any advise i would say just test some out. I mean you might be able to go to your endo and they might allow you to trial some of the pumps for a week or so to let you see which one you like. If they dont just do some research and find which one fits your lifestyle better and which one you find has better technology.

I was on a Cozmo for 4 and a half years, and went through the same process you're going through. I had reps from both Animas and Medtronic out to my house, to demo their respective products, and also let me "button punch" and see how they worked.

In my case, I chose the Animas, as I found the screen the easiest to read, and the menu flow easier to understand.

Do as much research as you can, get "one on one" demonstrations of each pump you're interested in. Only then, will you know which is best.

Just made the switch to the Ping myself. Have been on it for less than a week. So far the switch has been easy enough. It has its quirks which I am getting used to, and a few things I'd probably rather be different, but nothing to the point that I wish I had gone with minimed instead. Overall the transition has been pretty easy.

I took advantage of the program viewing it as a relatively inexpensive way to try out the animas till my cosmo warranty runs out. Figured I'd rather pay $200 and try out a new pump for a year, before commiting to a new pump for 4 years. When my warranty runs out I'll switch to the minimed if I'm not loving the ping.

Can't speak to which one (minimed or animas) is an easier transition, as I have only used the cosmo and the ping.
