Thumbs up BD / Nova meter

My BD link meter that hooks to my pump came to me dead... it said E-5. I called BD. I was given a message saying that BD no longer dealt with these meters, and to call Nova. They gave me a phone number.

I called Nova immediately. They walked me through about 12 seconds of stuff, and then said I would have to get the meter replaced. Great, I thought. Just wonderful. She asked for my address. As I was giving it to her, I pulled out my credit card. She then said thank you and that my meter would be shipped. I asked if she needed my card information to pay for it. She said no need, it was covered. I explained to her that I had just gotten the meter off of craigslist. It wasnt registered under my name or anything. She explained that was fine, and that it didnt matter where I got it from or if I had ever used it before. She said it was their duty to make sure I have the latest and most up to date meter available from them. They didnt even run it through my insurance.

My meter showed up today, only 5 days after speaking with her. I will send them my old meter and that will be it. This was an AWESOME experience. I would recommend Nova to anyone looking for a wireless meter to use with their minimed pump.

They are more than happy to give you the meter. I'm sure they would have tossed in an extra one if you asked. They want you to keep using the strips so they're not going to charge for the meter.

You said you got a 722, right? Or a 715? Minimed no longer supplied the Nova Max meters with pumps, the current meter is a LIfescan UltraLink. It also sends the readings to the pump and uses the same strips as all the other LIfescan One Touch meters. I got the BD meter with my 715 and the Lifescan with my 722.

You can use the NovaMax with your pump or the Ultra link as Liz said.

Did you get a cable to hook up the BD/NovaMax meter to the pump so that you can upload the pump?
Novamax will send you the cable too. If not , I have one I will send you , I use the Carelink usb thing to upload mine to my computer .
