| | Theres one called "restaurant nutrition" thats chalk full of nutrition info on a ton of stuff. Its free, I use it.
Theres also a site that works great in mobile safari Diabetes Management and Blood Sugar Log - SugarStats.com Online Diabetes Tracking to track your BG readings.

| | | Glucose Buddy I have an iPod Touch, and I am using Glucose Buddy to record all my numbers. It is very easy to use, and it is free. You can enter blood glucose numbers, time or day, meal title, plus medicine - insulin dosages, etc. There is an entry for activity levels and also a space to add notes. It has much more than any other glucose recording program I have tried, and I have used the One Touch and the Accu-chek software on my computer but it is not nearly as flexible as Glucose Buddy.
The extra good part is that you can synchronize your data with a program at their web site, which will give you all the data in list form to be printed if you wish, and also it plots several kinds of graphs.
Over all it the best diabetes management program that I have ever used.
Certainly worth trying for free!

| | | For the most part yes Ipone and ITouch work the same with a few differences
If the app uses GPS or Cell or camera it will not work with the Itouch. other than that it should |

| | | Thanks... hmmm, might look into an itouch, if there are good apps to suit me. I an always searching for a small portable device I can do some useful logging and so forth with. Iphone doesn't really interest me. I used a palm for a while a while ago - it wasn't bad but it was just too big for my pocket and development really started drying up on palmOS at the time.

Subby, I think you would like the iPod Touch. There are a lot of apps available. I also used Carb Finder as well as Glucose Buddy and there are many health and nutrition apps available. A lot are free and some have a small charge, but they seem less expensive than I used to pay for apps for my old Sony Clie running on a Palm system. I find that data entry is very easy on the iPod Touch. I use it to keep some games, books to read, and audio books, music and photographs. Also a few utility things like conversion apps, lists, address book/contacts, and the wi-fi is handy for picking up email or connecting to the internet.

| | | I have 'CarbFinder' in my iTouch as well. It's the most comprehensive carb database I've ever had. Really helpful when I eat out. |

It is definitely a good ap for the iPod Touch. I tried another one called, I believe, Nutrition, but the text was so dark it was impossible to read when trying to access carbs for various quantities. Carb Finder is much better.

This software allows you to delete/add items as you like and can update more items. It also has food in the resturants, like Pizza Hut, McDonals's, Subway and Starbucks (meaning that I can have my favourite caramel frappuchino!)
I have nothing to do with this company but I am on carb counting regime and find this is really useful myself. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
