| Get the paperwork sent in to them and see what their response is. They may very well disapprove the CGMS but "Almost never" sounds like they sometimes do approve it.
File an appeal if you find out they won't approve your CGMS. Make a case to show that it could better financially for them to cover it than not. Remind them that a CGMS can be less expensive than one visit to the ER. Point out that since your old insurance has already seen the value of paying for the CGMS, your new insurance would only be providing continuing coverage for the sensors, not the whole thing.
You've been using a CGMS for 9 months. Has your a1c improved since you've been on it? Have you had fewer ambulance rides or emergency room visits since using a CGMS compared to before? Have your BG levels been more even with fewer highs and lows, since using the CGMS?
