update :)

I went to see my endo today to see how my A1C and my cholesterol is doing and to finalize me getting going on the pump.

Around the middle of december my a1c was 10... it is now 8.4
my choleseterol is a little better...

but the best thing is I am finally fully on my pump! no more injections WOOHOO!!

I also did my first infusion set change today as well and wow - this is easy!

thanks for all the support!

That's fantastic, Clint. The next step is an even lower A1C! Take care of that "expensive pager" as my wife calls it! It's a great tool for the fight we all share.

thanks all

I had a low during the night, which I sort of expected. So I got up and ate a snack and went back to sleep... when I got up, I was 106...

now, I just need to figure out the best place for my infusion set... I think I have it to low right now and my pants irritate it... its a learning process

thanks again!

Clint that is great news!! Keep up the good work.

Now that you are a pumper your next A1c will most likely be lower!

Placing the infusions set is a learning process. Also you will find different absorptions from different sites. Good luck!

theoretically, my a1c *is lower* as we didn't wait the full 90 days to retest, it was done sooner... so I am expecting to be around or under 7 when we retest again at the end of feb...

plus, it was a pain to get the infusion set OFF... but a qtip with alcohol on it did the trick (my lovely wife figured that out)

I bought Thomas "Goo Gone" from Walmart, I think you can get it just about anywhere though. It is in a spray bottle and works great. Animas sends us UniSolve wipes with his supply order when I remember to ask for them.

as I started to peel back the adhesive it hurt some and then we took the qtip with alcohol and used that to make the set 'release' and it worked... we have some goo gone I think will give that a try...

thanks Nancy!
