Got the regular flu shot early on in the fall, and received the H1N1 last week. Both times I saw a bit of redness at the injection site, and I felt a bit lethargic after the H1N1 shot. Didn't want to receive the H1N1, but I got it for work.

What kind of advice is everyone getting about the H1N1 vaccine? I got the regular vaccine with a mild, short term reaction (aches) and now feel fine. It seems logical to get the vaccine. I'm open to advice!

First flu shot with D I swore it effected me, after that it never did again.

yes!!!

I got the H1N1 shot a few days ago and my arm has been red and swollen and sore. Hope that is a good sign that my immune system is working. Only problem is that I definintely have noticed that my readings have been so high - really higher than ever and I hope this will pass when I see the arm getting back to normal. Maybe all my energy is going to the shot ? Has anybody else had trouble with that and for how long did it last? ( in the meantime I have increased my basal Levemir and also my NovoRapid).

Brand new Type 1 diagnosis in our family...my 7 year old son. There is an H1N1 clinic this Saturday... The diabetes ed people recommended we get him vaccinated. Thought I'd ask around on here as well... good idea? What should I watch for with a child? (reaction?...I should preface by saying in our family we typically don't even get seasonal flu shots... knock on wood, but no one's gotten the flu that I can recall..)

I continue to hear mixed news on the availability. Some of you are saying you've gotten the vaccine, yet the qualifications seem to be restricted to kids, pregnant women, health care providers and infant parents. Any updates beyond this list?

Also, has anyone gotten this flu?
