| | | H1N1 vaccine and high blood sugar after? Hi Everyone.
I got my H1N1 shot yesterday and thankfully there is no (according to their sheets of side effects) side effects (not even a sore arm!!) however, the only side effect that IS possible that i've noticed is my blood sugar since getting the vaccine has been higher than normal. (thank god my a1c test was last week!)
Has anyone else had this problem? It could also be related to the random food i've had in the past 2 days, but i'm pretty confident it's the shot.
Thanks!

| | I had the flu, and sinusitis, and my blood sugar has not gone since. I had the seasonal vaccine last week (still with infection) and did not notice a further increase ... but, who knows?

| | | I had a few side effects, all of which lasted no more than 24 hours. I had a bit of soreness on my arm, I felt fatigue, and my BG levels were higher for the day, but were normal by the time I woke up the next morning.

| | | My arm was sore to touch at the injection site for 2 days and I also had a slight headache for 2 days, which I presume is a result of the HINI shot, as I never get headaches. Other than that, no problems. I was told it takes 2 weeks for the vaccine to work.

| | I had my 'regular' flu shot last weekend. My BG was a very bouncy beast indeed for 2 or 3 days.
I get my H1N1 shot next weekend. Hopefully I'll avoid catching the thing prior to that

| | | be cautious before taking the h1n1 vaccine I also just got the H1N1 20 hours ago. I have not been able to get my blood sugar below 340 for the past 12 hours. I wear a pump and the sensor is going bolistic. I've also done 9 finger sticks to validate the sensors and they match perfectly. I've had type 1 for 32 years and this is the first time that I've seen this and I believe it's from the shot. I have no infections and my diet in the past 24hrs would make any dietician happy. I've given an extra 50 units in the past 8 hrs that I've never had to do before and it hasn't made a dent. My typical A1C is below 7. I know that H1N1 is very serious and the blood sugars will stabolize in the next few days. Now I know why Obama is not having his kids take the vaccine. |
