| | | tingles and itcing? Lately i've been getting sudden strange tingles and itching feels all over my body especially the hand and some back area. Im really not sure of what this is- its not really a numbness more like a sharple tingle where by afterwards it has a sort of itch? I was wondering if its a neurological case due to my diabetes but i didnt think it matched with what i was feeling since its all over the body not just feet. If i press hard against something i can feel it occur and i can feel any pressure put on my skin or my skin being touched. If i clench my fist the feeling comes when i release it it goes after a few secs. It started occuring on saturday morning, the day before i got hit by a ball in the stomach so i was wondering if that had anything to do with it. I've had diabetes for around 4 and half years now (since around may 2001).My control is ok i guess- highest monthly A1c was a little over 8 and for the past year i'd say i've been getting from 6.3-7.0
Im really worried whether its something concerned with diabetes, i mean im only young and not prepared to deal with anything else! Im really hoping that its something totally irrelevant but so far things dont look too good. |

Hopefully it is not something to do with diabetes but one thing is for sure, ignoring it won't reduce your worrying.
Why not raise your concern with your doctor or diabetes nurse and maybe they can reassure you. If it is not something trivial, then at least you will have caught it early.

| | | muscle / nerve injury When I was helping my friend paint her living room I missed a step coming off the ladder, and landed a bit hard on my left foot. I thought no more of it. I developed what appeared to be a kidney infection a couple of days later, that was steadily got worse. My back has hurt constantly and the pain was radiating up into my shoulder and around to my left side. I felt bruised, like I had been beaten with a 2 X 4 but there was no black and blue areas. Then it got worse and began to burn or tingle all down my shoulder into my lower back alternating between burning and tingling and itching. I have gone to the doctor 3 times over this, but to no avail. Urine analysis were negative showing no infection, nothing was wrong with my kidneys.
The Endo sent me to a different doctor (orthopedist) saying this was out of her realm. The new doctor sent me for x-rays and sonogram and MRI of my back and kidneys.
The tests showed that my left hip was almost 2 full centimeters higher than my right hip and had compressed on a nerve that runs through my spine towards my shoulder and that L-4 had several compression fractures in my spine. To add insult to injury the muscle has wrapped up and bound tightly in the same area.
Now we know that my little slip and hard landing while painting was more of a problem that I realized. I will be paying for physical therapy for at least the next two months (3 times a week) which is expensive (we are talking several hundred dollars a week which insurance does not pay) and will have to deal with this intense pain a while longer. (sorry pain killers do not affect this type pain deep in a nerve so it’s a waste to even try to take them.)
This could be considered a self induced incident because I was not careful enough. Or a freak accident, but either way, this happened at the end of April and today I am still having the burning, and tingling and itching.
What you are experiencing could possibly be a simple injury or it could be a nerve reacting to something that is rubbing or irritating it. Whichever have it checked out, I waited until it was severe and now it is really a problem. |

| | | We called the endo and she said it could be a virus. Although it remains stable throughout the day and suddenly reacts when im on the computer or in a certain slouching position. It may just be a small case of RSI or a pinched nerve? who knows. what do you guys think? |

One of the symptoms was severe itching on my arms and parts of my legs, BUT I could see something wrong with my skin - rash, swelling, dryness etc.
So, yours could conceivably be a virus but then when the medical profession don't know what something is, they always seem to say "it could be a virus". If it worries you, I would see a doctor if I were you.

| | | Don't be scared. Going to have it checked out will be the best thing. Not knowing what it is can really destroy you mentally and many other ways. Please let us know how it goes. (Cinnabon has her fingers crossed!!!)

Hopefully, once you know what it is you have to cope with the fear will go and you will have the strength to deal with the condition.
I'm sure we are all of one mind in sincerely hoping that your symptoms turn out to have no serious cause and that you have nothing to worry about.
