Got my test results back today

Seems like my obsession with blood glucose testing during the day is paying off (I test on average 8 times a day)

I dont know what this test is called, but it gives you the figure of your average blood glucose levels over an extended period of time.

this one worked out at a brilliant 5.1
Cholesterol was 3.05

the only worrying thing was that on my last visit, my blood pressure was 125/70
and this time it was 132/92

I was very fit on my last visit and I have not been doing enough exercise over the last few months. As for weight, well i am as skinny as always, same as last time I was there (67kg).

the real reason I went to see my doctor is a tad more embarassing, but I'll be honest & tell the truthg anyways. Obver the last 2 years my impotence has become a bad problem and its getting worse. No good explenation if my blood sugar levels have been good/lowish for the last 4 years at least.

I tend to suffer from a lot of skin fungus infections in my face lately, and my skin is off colour. I guess it has something to do with my stomach complications though.

facial fungus

Pitzi

Great check up. Wish my A1c was that low.

For the facial fungus, you may want to try a health food store. I don't have facial fungus, but had a toenail fungus, some on my foot and a little behind my ear. I took Yeast Cleanse by Solaray - has garlic and caprylic acid etc. If you take it as directed 3pills/2xday or 2 pills/3xday on empty stomach, after a month you may see some results. I saw great results from it.

Good luck with your health! Great start.

hey my friend, your A1C levels are to die for!!! If you still have concerns, perhaps you should do bloodwork on your thyroid, and testosterone. Its common that diabetes and thyroid conditions go hand in hand. I'm a gal, so I couldn't tell ya how thyroid affects a guy......except from my experience. You're better off asking the guys here.

Pitzi,

5.1 is a very low HBA1c. Especially for someone who has had T1 for 11 years (I think I read that in one of your other posts). How much do you weigh and how many units of insulin do you use a day?

Cheers,

Mark

67kg, 1.8m tall and 35 units a day. Sometimes I take up to 40 units depending on food intake & exercise. part of the cause of my low readings is my iffy food absorbtion due to the pancreatic enzyme deficency I suffer from.

I do take enzyme supplements but no matter how much I take its still not like a normally working digestive system.
