As for why you've lost feeling in one of your toes, it probably is a callice but if you're concerned, see your doctor of a chirpodist. They will also be able to provide better advice than most of us. Loose-topped socks will help with circulation, you can buy non-elasticated socks which will be ideal.
Finally, if you're in a warehouse, I'd recommend you get a pair of comfortable, well-fitting safety boots with steel toecaps. However I'd imagine this is already a prerequisite for working in the warehouse anyway. |

| | That is great that you are concerned....wish I was more concerned at 19 than I was....(college, not the best diet or control but never out of control). You need to check with your Endo, if you have one. He can recommend types of shoes etc.....if in warehouse I am sure it is the steel toe boot route. I have inserts that are made to the shape of my foot that is prescribed by the doctor and paid for by insurance. Make sure you check your feet daily if not more for unusual spots, blisters, or soreness. I was also told that after each shower when I dry my feet to take a clean washcloth and dry inbetween every toe (it is like flossing teeth! ) Ask your doctor what is best and just keep a very close eye on your feet, don't walk barefoot and yep..wear those ugly pool shoes

| | | Most definitely, keep your blood sugars in check and drink lots of water as this helps you with the circulation. Also, see your doctor, its better to catch things early than let ANYHTING just slide by.

This is a good concern to have ant any age. I had noticed that I had neuropathy symptoms at 21. I was a rock climber in S. Cal. Some days I could jump off the rocks without any problems and other days it would feel like my feet would break if I would jump. So I would avoid doing it. I wore the climbing shoes back then. They were 2 sizes too small as normal for climbing and gripping. A comfortable shoe will help with your feet feeling good but the best way to avoid neuropathy is to stay in as good control as you are able. This will help a lot. As long as you see hair growing on your legs and feet you have good circulation and that is always a good sign for your feet not being in danger as well. If you have a good blood supply to help with healing your leg s and feeding the tissues, you will also be well off.
This is a few ideas I have from my personal experiences. I hope they are of value.

That and the insides were starting to wear so I put some in them. They were comfortable and did not notice them because they did not bother me. Come to think of it probably the only insoles that did not move around or come out with my foot. I should find that pair of shoes and put the insoles in my current shoes.

Is there a picture somewhere? Are these things recommended for diabetics? Is there a significance to the white rubber soles?
Sorry . . . probably making a big deal out of nothing, but it sounded like you were recommending something important, and I'm just lost trying to understand.

| | | Nope not recommending anything.....except not to walk barefoot while enjoying water activities. You can find these at Walmart , Target.....the white rubber bottoms make them great if your walking on the beach....nothing can really cut through it. They are great because at water parks they don't come off when your going down the slides.......

I thought there was some kind of prescription shoe or something that you were recommending to wear around the house, and I hadn't heard of such a thing. Thanks so much for solving the mystery!
