Hi Tony: That is hardly as bad as some but it should be a bit lower.
(my Doc is happy with my A1c being any where from 7.0 to 5.6 for me.
I'm usually low 6's). Other people like their's 6.0 to 5.0. Everyone's different.
We don't know if you are doing just diet and exercise or plus pills or
Insulin, etc. Exercise is a definite, I drink lots of water to help clear any
extra sugars from my body, plus water is good for your organs and body
in general. You could discuss with your Doc, upping your pills or
Insulin(just a bit, if you are on them). I also eat 4 or 5 small portion
meals a day which keeps the spikes much lower and the lows less. I am
on small amounts of Lente and Humalog, so it works pretty good for me.
Are you doing carb counting? That works well for many Folks.
Good Luck.
