A little advice please

Um.... well I take my one shot of levemir every evening somwhere between 5 and 6pm. Tonight i'm not sure if i've already taken it or not. That might sound really dumb but I just seem to think i may have already had it, but then think I haven't

I'm thinking more along the lines that I haven't had it, i think i thought about it but didn't do it just then....

But I dont want to take it incase i already have :/

what would you do??

I would say take it, but then watch yourself carefully for lows. I know that I had that happen a lot when I was on injections. It is better to take it and then nurse a low rather than be high and have a harder time getting it back down. Lows can be taken care of quickly, especially if you know that you have the potential for one, and that you know when that potential is.

If it were me, I might wait a couple hours, test a lot and see where my bg is going... if I miss my Lantus or delay it a couple hours, I can see and feel my bg climb fast... and then maybe if it looks like you did miss it, take it, though it would be a little late, I don't think a few hours would screw you up too much, you could always shift it back to your normal time over the next day or two.

thanks everyone... well I decided to take it and test lots, because i'm 90% sure i didnt take it earlier. if i did take it already and i go low i will drink some regular coke and mayybe eat some pasta or somthing.

It's just such a habit to take it now that I just don't notice doing it :/

hey Laura,

Been in that situation plenty of times. I've actually taken double doses before, and not too much happened apart from a mild low, so if you have doubled up I'm sure it'll be ok. As you say, have the coke and dextrose tabs on hand and have a nice relaxing evening (if you have doubled up then you dont want to be going out dancing, even if it is a Friday night!)
