I eat 25g carbs and it jumps me up 25-35 points in 1 hour and then coes back down. I am honeymooning 4 months and taking 10 units of lantus a day. I am definatly still honeymooning.

that should be enough info to compair to me.

I'd say your still honeymooning, mabye on the downslide.... depends if you taking insulin or not.

It's good you are getting in touch with your doctor.

It seems like your body is calling out for a bit of insulin As much as we all, were there and didnt want to be, we had to take control. Im real glad u have a doc and u are in contact w/ him/her. Please let us know how it goes.

I think you will find that your honeymoon ends very gradually. You might be seeing the first signs of it.

Are you taking insulin and still seeing these spikes? Generally, the honeymoon continues on insulin for awhile. Just starting insulin doesn't mean the honeymoon is over. Actually, I am surprised your doctor would diagnose you type 1 and not put you on insulin. If these spikes are with insulin, then your carb ratios need adjusting. When you hit about 1 unit to 10 grams it's safe to say the honeymoon is over.

honeymoon ending will mess up your basel rates extremely, as well as bolus rates. you will be able to tell when you are done honeymooning your fasting levels will be extremely high, and i didnt finish honeymooning yet but when i do you basiclaly have to start from scratch on your rates

Those numbers still aren't really high. The honeymoon definitely isn't over. If your pancreas was making no insulin, you would be running 500+. How many carbs do you eat in a meal? You may still be able to push it with diet if you restrict carbs, but there really is no reason not to start meal insulin.
