extreme hunger after awakening

the past two days i been working on getting my sleep habits more normalish for 3rd shift...

sleep from 9am to around 1pm then get up for a few hours and go back to sleep around 4 - 5pm and sleep til 830pm

after i wake up at 1, im extremely hungry and my levels are around upper 70's.........

I need to work out a meal plan of exactly when im going to eat.... but first of all, i need to start sleeping a full 8 hours instead of splitting it up, cause i think splitting it up is the problem... but hubby kisses me or something when he leaves for work and thats what wakes me up..... or the phone ringing one or the other

can someone give me suggestions??

Red face Job ......

I think you should look for a job with normal hours for your own good and health. I feel the 3rd shift for diabetics is very rough on the body.

well, i just started this shift...... i got the short end of the stick when everyone got to pick the shifts they wanted.......

i told them id try it but if it got to the point where my body rejected that shift that i would get a doctors note so i could go back to the shift i need which at the very least is 3 - 12 midnight

my body does good either on 8 -5 or 3 - 12... but ive never worked 3rds... so i dont think its going to be a good thing lol

plus there isnt many good jobs around here that make more than minimum wage... so unfortunately i cannot leave and go to another job

Red face Stay up .......

Well if you have to, I would stay up when I get home and not go to sleep right away. I would stay up till 11 am or 12 pm then go to sleep till 5 pm or 6 pm. Good luck ........
