Levemir/Lantus Allergy question ???

How do you know if you are allergic to Levemir or Lantus? I can't tell....my complaint last week to my diabetes NP was that my face seemed to be broken out with more spots going down even to my chin. Mind you I have psoriasis and am controlled with Methotrexate and still have some facial spots but it has gotten worse with Lantus. I switched to Levemir and it has not gotten any better but I have developed a severe head ache starting at my neck on up. I have it barely contained with Mobic this morning.

Those allergic to these meds how did it affect you and how did you know you were allergic to them? I very rarely have a headache.

The other med I take is Humalog but I have used it for several years to correct my 70/30.

Thanks,
Nita

It could be that the MTX isn't as effective for your psoriasis. I have read a lot of studies where after time mtx doesn't work as well as other drugs, ie biologics (tnf blocker).....I wouldn't think if you were allergic to both lantus and levemir...try talking to your dermatologist or the dr that prescribes the mtx.

To me it sounds concerning.I've had the injection site flare up and get red,but there are many different symptoms. Having a headache could very well be one,and breaking out definetly sounds like an allergic reaction.Maybe it's interacting with the medication you take for the psoriasis. I would tell my dr. that you feel very uncomfortable taking this, and see what he or she does about.

I'm allergic to Lantus.

I got swollen, itchy welts at the inject site.
