| | | Time of day and BG levels Hi..
I know this probably sounds strange.. but... does the time of day make a difference in BG levels?
Seems if I eat something in the morning - it will raise my levels slightly, but that same item eaten at dinner time will send my levels skyward..
Just curious is anyone else has noticed this?

| | | the reason is, of a morning your body had already had the DP affect and your numbers are already higher than normally would be, you eat something, you wont see that much of a rise, then it goes back down. Cause your body goes at least 8 hours without eating if not longer, so your liver produces more glucose to try to give your body the energy it needs
or at least this happens to me as well in some circumstances, like if i go longer without eating than normal.
for example
if i go like 6 hours without eating and i eat a cup full of pasta, if i test before i eat and im 125 (which is higher than i would normally be due to not eating on the 3 or 4 hour) then ill eat the pasta, test 2 hours later ill be 115
which is so confusing to me, but it happens lol

| | | Yeah, it can make a huge difference. That's why pumps allow different carb ratios, basal rates, and correction factors for different times of day. |

My blood glucose is a lot more sensitive carbs in the morning than it is in the evening, presumably because of the DP. I think this happens with most people.

| | | I can pretty much get the same results no matter when I eat something....does that mean I'm strange????? When first diagnosed I heard that some had different results depending on time of day etc to foods, so naturally my curious mind wanted to know and not too much of a difference, doesn't mean it can't or won't happen to me lol | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
