New lab results

Hi Everyone: Saw my doctor on Wed of last week. Most recent A1c 5.4...up a point from last time, but it was from a different lab, so i'm hoping that's the reason for the difference...my meter averages are pretty much the same, so i'm satisfied.

Microalbumin test was good, as was my basic panel. No lipid panel at this time.

In addition, i'm starting HCTZ 12.5 mg 1 daily for my blood pressure, we'll see how that works out.

Great A1c!

Don't fret over that miniscule increase.

Linda,
Excellent, I guess the wine & the vinegar are helping.

You deserve to have a good A1C, you work hard at it, I mean it.

Thanks for the validation/encouragement guys! I always dread going to the doctor and dread getting results...it's like studying for a test for 3 months, hoping for the best, but not really being sure how things will go. Guess i'll get more used to it all as time passes.

Yes Dan, I do think the wine and vinegar helps, but nothing helps me as much as the forum. Here I find unquestionable support, friendship, information and encouragement that helps me daily in my walk with diabetes.

Nice job! That is an excellent A1C...You must stay very motivated every day to achieve a number like that.

Excellent job on your a1c!!! It takes a lot to keep in check to have numbers like that. My last a1c was 7.5 which isn't horrible but working better at getting that lower!! Keep up the good work!!!

To be honest, fear is a powerful motivator for me....though I do have my moments. I have a nice treat the day AFTER my blood is drawn....I figure I have 90 more days to "undo" that meal.
