Byetta

I was wondering about your experiences with Byetta, Here locally, in some of our medical literature from different hospitals, it seems as if people who have started it have been able to lose weight, and a lot of it.
My endo was wanting to change my insulin to Byetta, but he first did a stomach emptying test, and my stomach emptys way to slow to take Byetta.
That's the way my luck goes! Oh well...

Later, guys!

I took byetta for 8 weeks and I had constant nausea the entire time. I also puked 5-8times a day on it. Needless to say we gave up on it. I did lose weight. about 20lbs.

Has your doctor talked to you about Januvia? Its supposed to work similarly to byetta with out the nausea and side effects. It might be a good alternative for you.

Yeah, we discussed it, but he said that it worked the same way, and with my slow-emptying stomach, it would not work for me.

I'm on Lantus and Novolog, and pretty well controlled. but I'm about 40 lbs overweight and that is why we considered Byetta.

I have been on Byetta for a short while - have had no side affects and I have lost approx. 15lbs so far (still on the 5mcg pen). Byetta has been a God-send for me. Its certainly not for everyone though.

Hope you can find the right solution!
