| Here is a graph that shows the action profiles for N and R insulin. Bear in mind that, to optimise BG control you want your insulin to peak at mealtimes. When I used these insulins (I am T1), I would inject R and N at 12 noon. The R would cover lunch, which I ate at 1:00pm. And the N would cover supper at 7 pm. I also injected N before bed (about 11pm) to see me through the night and cover breakfast.
It worked quite well, but the timing was restrictive. As you are T2, the timing and amounts are probably not as critical. You just need to experiment until you find what works best for you.
