Great A1c

Had Dr. appointment last week - A1c=5.7 yah-hoo! Dr. said great reading - non-diabetic reading!! (although I will always be a diabetic)

Byetta 5 mcg
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets


Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (right after dealing with shingles and bronchitis)

Yep, that is very good!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: people who hang out on this forum are really motivated and learn many ways to keep their BGs in line. Too bad medicine will never study us to see what it is that we do that makes us fair so well---and then recommend those things to new diabetics!

Great! Awesome! I just started injecting Bayetta. So far the numbers have Improved. I'm only on 5mcg, it's the 3rd day.
Numbers are much better, if this keeps up my A1C should be much lower. I managed to get it down from 11.8 to 7.0 with Metformin + Januvia. Januvia has been messing me up, my new DR + Endo had me drop januvia and start bayetta.

I HOPE to hit 5.6 in 6 months.
